STUDENT ADMISSION AND GRADUATION POLICY OF THE UNIVERSITY

Admission Policy

  1. Candidates seeking admission to the University for First Degree Courses must obtain and complete the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms.
  2. For admission to all courses, candidates must satisfy the admission requirement of the University for some Courses, additional Faculty/Department requirements have to be satisfied.
  3. New Admissions will normally be made only in September/October every year.
  4. At the time of registration in the University, each candidate will be required to present the originals of the certificates or any other acceptable evidence of the qualifications on the basis of which the offer of admission has been made.
  5. If it is discovered at any time that a candidate does not possess any of the qualifications, which he/she claims to have obtained, he/she will be expelled from the University.
  6. Students shall, on admission pay to the university, all the fees prescribed by regulations.

   

General Admission Requirements for Banking & Finance

 

The entry requirements into the undergraduate degree in Banking & Finance of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti shall be as follows:

  1. Admission shall be open to all prospective candidates irrespective of religion, ethnic group, gender, creed and disability;
  2. All admissions shall be through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB);
  3. For admission to 100 Level (via UTME), candidates must: obtain five (5) credits at SSCE (or equivalent) in relevant subjects at not more than 2 sittings including credit passes in English, Mathematics and Economics; and attain acceptable point in UTME in relevant subjects;
  4. For admission by direct entry (200 Level), candidates shall, in addition to having five (5) SSCE credits (or its equivalent), obtain at least two (2) A’ level (or its equivalent) passes in relevant subjects, or possess National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), with at least Upper Credit grade in Accounting, Financial Studies, Banking and Finance, Business Administration and Management and any other recognized Diploma Certificates obtained from any recognized University may be considered.
  5. Those who meet the requirements for admission shall be subjected to screening interview to be conducted by the University; and
